- MLA quiz (25 points). Know:
- How to quote and paraphrase from a source
- How to create MLA in-text (parenthetical) citations from both print sources and online sources, including rules for block quotes and how to quote a quote
- Rules for creating and organizing MLA Works Cited entries and an MLA Works Cited page
- Find a source (e.g. news article from a credible source; TEDTalk) that you can use to advance, complicate, or challenge a central idea from your book. You'll need this to write Post #3.
- Cite this source and your book source at the end of Post #3.

- You should have read a majority of your book by this date.
- How to put your sources in conversation (post #3). See my entry #3 for example. Or see Becca's Blog #3 for an example.

- Niven's All the Bright Places paired with a source on portayals of mental illness in the media, treating depression, or suicide prevention, such as "Media's Damaging Depictions of Mental Illness" or "What's behind the rise in youth suicides?"
- Levitt and Dubner's Freakonomics paired with "Inside the Cheater's Mind" or "13 surprising ways your name affects your success"
